We meet your mind where it is.
We are a welcoming and human-first mental health practice in Alexandra Hills, Brisbane. By providing counselling in plain-English, we can truly start from your reality, and offer conversations that help you make sense of what’s happening and see a path forward.
Together we can take note of the negative loops in your life and turn the mess into a map. The process works at a measured pace, helping you to realign your life one step at a time. Meet, unpack, realign is the simple rhythm beneath it all.
Care is easy to access. Choose the in‑person rooms in Alexandra Hills (close to Capalaba and Cleveland) or secure telehealth by video or phone. After‑hours appointments run most weeks, with selected weekends. Booking is quick and available 24/7; instant confirmation includes directions for the clinic or a private telehealth link. Many people arrive with anxiety, low mood, stress, grief, relationship patterns or life transitions. You’re not broken — you’re human. Support here is calm, practical and close to home.
Our approach is evidence-based and rooted in human-first values. We operate within clear consent and confidentiality boundaries. With permission, care can be coordinated with GPs and other providers when needed.
Please note we are not a crisis service; if there is immediate risk, contact emergency services (000) or a crisis line in your area.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
No labels. We start from your reality.
You’re not broken — you’re human.
Real conversations create clarity.
Unpack it or repeat it.
One actionable step per session.
Measured, human‑first care. Evidence‑informed methods. Respect for pace and privacy.
HOW SESSIONS WORK
01MEET
We begin with your current reality, clarify what matters to you, and identify what is most urgent to change.

02UNPACK
Trace loops and patterns (trigger → thought → feeling → action). Turn the mess into a map, so you can make choices with a clearer head.

03RE-ALIGN
Change your circumstances one practical step at a time; review progress in the next session.

Plain‑English therapy.
Focus on one thing at a time. Big outcomes built up from small, consistent changes.
Some examples of actionable steps might be:
1. Name the loop
Jot a quick “trigger → thought → feeling → action” after one tricky moment this week.
2. Two-minute reset
Practise a brief breathing or grounding exercise once a day (or when stress spikes).
3. Five-minute task
Pick one tiny action that lifts mood or order—reply to one message, tidy one shelf, short walk.
4. Sleep wind-down
Choose one cue before bed—dim lights, hot shower, or phone away—and repeat nightly.
5. Boundary line
Use a simple script once: “Thanks for asking—no this time.”
6. Communication cue
Try “When X happens, I feel Y. Could we try Z?” in one conversation.
7. If-then plan
If I notice my heart racing, then I’ll take three slow breaths and get a glass of water.

Dan founded Meta Minds Therapy out of a deep need to help people and make a difference in the world.
After growing up between his native UK and Spain, he eventually settled in Australia with his mother. But a lack of male role models meant that Dan struggled with his sense of identity and self-worth.
He overcame this by starting a YouTube channel – not aiming to go viral, but simply to express his creativity and vulnerability. His channel gave him an outlet to process, create, and connect. He quickly discovered the joy of making authentic, heart-to-heart connections with others who felt lost in the noise.
These authentic moments are what first inspired his interest in mental health.
Today, Meta Minds exists as a modern, values-driven organisation. It aims to give people the comfort & connection that Dan had to struggle to find: real connection, real human values, real help.

Thanks Dan and Meta Minds
"My friend had lost a partner last year and has been struggling to find his feet with work and life in general. Being a typical stubborn bloke, he was resistant to help.
